About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

ReplyDeletelove this.. :)
ReplyDeleteThe girls are very cute. I really like the setting. Love that bench and all the plants behind them.
ReplyDeleteMy mother gave some scraps of material to her friend who made dolls. In return the friend gave her a doll. It had yarn pigtails& an embroidered face.I wanted that doll so much. Around that time I was going through puberty & I cried at everything. My mom didn't like that I cried, so she said I could have the doll if I didn't cry for week. Well, I didn't & she gave me the doll. I loved that doll & took good care of it. One day I came home from school & went to get my doll, It wasn't there. One of my brothers had taken it outside & rubbed its face in a cow patty. Of course I cried then. My mom said, "If I didn't want the boys to get into my things, I should put a lock on the door. There was nothing I could do, but put the doll into the stove & burn it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Love the setting too and the girls' expressions. Amazingly crisp, too. Very nice.

Wow - the doll on the right looks like a miniature person. It's even looking at us!

ReplyDeleteWow, the quality of this photo is great! It looks like a modern reproduction to me. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! I wish they still made little girls shoes like that!! The ones on the left are perfect! I am so sick of glittery UGGs I could scream. You can sure tell they love their babies!
