Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Isn't it great how kids always make the best out of nothing. Looks like they turned that tumbleweed into a high chair for their dollie's.
ReplyDeleteAnd now young parents complain that their children have too many toys. Well, guess who's in charge.
ReplyDeleteWhat is really wonderful about this photo is that it like a "snapshot" rather than a posed portrait photo, unusual for that time. Thank you for sharing all these photos.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they are going to burn them at the stake.
ReplyDeleteAlso looks like some one got tired of brushing hair and whacked it all off. That happened to me when I was about that age.
They must have been quite poor judging by the ill-fitting clothing.
I'm sure they had lots of fun playing.
I agree with Dave, I like to see how these girls are improvising and making the best of their situation. I also like how the photo is un-posed.
ReplyDeleteBravo on a fine week of photos!
