White House Sheep
It is amazing to me how elitist Washington DC has become, and how far it has moved away from the common man. I guess it was not always that bad, as reflected in this picture from 1919, when they actually still grazed sheep on the white house lawn. I think sheep, a milk cow, and chickens at the White House would be a good thing.

There you go, free lawn mowing, free clothes, free fertilizer. What else could you ask for.
ReplyDeleteI realize that the free clothes will require a little work, but what the heck, free is free.
And in the end free food, lamb chops anyone?
What a lovely photo. I agree with DADD, a nice "green" White House. I'm afraid today they'd become pets. Great week of photos, PJM.

Add a few goats, and you could have milk and cheese also. Plus the goats would eat any trash thrown out.
ReplyDeleteOnly if the presidental family had to take care of them!!
ReplyDeleteWith the endless press coverage of the first family, it would be good to have some farm animals on the lawn to let people see them and realize that veggies and meats we eat come from the land and not the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteAgree with your observation JeepGirl.
How about some one in the White House saying, "Remember, Ceasar, thou art mortal"
ReplyDeleteMrs Obama has a garden every year, a great chance for photo opps. With all the running around minding everyone else's business and endless vacations, I very much doubt she tends it very much at all.
I wonder if the Obamas still have the sheep. They'd come in handy for pulling the wool over our eyes.

Good one. They will need an awful lot of sheep.
DeleteYou got that right--Myrtle.
ReplyDeleteI'm moreso warming up to the idea of having Congress "eat the grass"...at least they would finally be doing something productive.
